Specialized in both general purpose and customized special purpose application development using industry standard tools such as Microsoft® Visual Studio, Microsoft® Visual Studio.NET, Microsoft® Interactive Developer, Crystal Reports, Microsoft® Data Report, Microsoft® Internet Information Server, Microsoft® Visual Fox Pro, Oracle, Microsoft® SQL and Microsoft® Access. Programming languages having proficiency include Microsoft® Visual Basic™, Microsoft® Visual Basic.NET, C#, C, C++, ASP, and SQL. Domain expertise in various sectors including insurance, banking, finance, education, health, event management, project management, knowledge management and e-commerce. Worked as a developer, advisor and consultant to various governmental and non-governmental organizations. Major assignments include:

  1. Project Team Leader, GAPS Pvt. Ltd, Kathmandu, Nepal (02/01/2002 to present). Team leader of ten software developers, engineers, system analysts, report designers and documenters responsible for development of various general purpose and customized special purpose software applications and systems at GAPS Pvt. Ltd, a leading software development and business solution providing company. Applications and systems were developed using tools such as Microsoft® Visual Studio, Microsoft® Visual Studio.NET, Microsoft® Interactive Developer, Crystal Reports, Microsoft® Data Report, Microsoft® Internet Information Server, Oracle, D2K, Microsoft® SQL, Microsoft® Access, COM, XML and programming languages including Microsoft® Visual Basic™, Microsoft® Visual Basic.NET, C#, C, C++, ASP, and SQL. Following are some of the major the applications that were developed:
  2. Project Manager of the GAPS Business Solutions - Insurance UX™ Insurance Management System development team of 9 software developers responsible for the project design and development of
    Insurance UX™, an integrated insurance management system at GAPS Pvt. Ltd. Insurance UX™ was designed to enhance the operational efficiency of Lumbini General Insurance Company and other insurance companies. The product maturity and product positioning in the market was such that it was designed with high tolerance level and was optimized to run on higher speed even with relatively lower hardware specification. Issues such as data integrity security and privacy were addressed as per the international security norms. Distributed Application Design was incorporated into the system to ensure scalability for balancing the processing load between servers and individual thermals. Key modules included in the system are policy issuance underwriting module, Premium Collection module, Claim Processing module, Facultative module, Treaty module, accounting module, with MIS reports. The system was developed using Microsoft® Visual Studio.NET, Microsoft® SQL Server, Crystal Reports and Microsoft® Excel.
  3. System analysis, system design and development of eSchoolPro Suite which is multi-level school and college management enterprise suite. The application was designed and developed according to general requirements of various schools and colleges of Nepal. The system was developed with two major objectives, 1. Enable schools and colleges to perform their daily business activities smooth and efficient manner. 2. Provide better customer support at multiple levels. The system includes modules such as billing, fee structuring, general accounting, mark sheet generation, school library management module, lesson planning and analysis, employee management, multi level authentication and authorization modules and Customer Relationship Management. A number of deployments were made at various deployment points of Raktakali Education Foundation, Brookfield Academy School and Brookfield College. eSchoolPro was developed in Microsoft® Visual Basic as the front end and Microsoft® SQL server as the back end database. Various tools such as Microsoft® Visual Studio, Crystal Reports were used in the development. COM was used as server components and GAPS Power Foundation followed as the development Methodology.
  4. System analysis, system design and development of GAPS Business Solutions : Variant Human Resource Management, a comprehensive corporate human resource management system. The system was designed and developed using general requirements combined with the requirements of Sahid Ganga Lal Hospital, Himalayan General Insurance, Lumbini General Insurance. The application includes features of keeping records of extensive employee information, track employee login and logout, manage employee shifts, break between shifts and manage multiple shifts. The application is able to generate various MIS reports at various levels to track the performance of an employee. Major challenge during the design of this system was to develop a subsystem for the secure and prompt authentication of employee during login and logout transactions. This challenge was overcome by developing a system which enables the application to easily integrate with various authenticating devices such as swipe card and biometrics devices such as finger print authentication device. Developed in the Microsoft® Dot Net Platform using Microsoft® SQL as the database. Microsoft® Visual Studio™ .NET was used as the development tool and GAPS Power Foundation was used as the development methodology.
  5. System analysis, system design and development of GAPS Hospital Management System, is a comprehensive and integrated Hospital Management System, fully geared up to meet the demands of running a modern Hospital or Clinic. GAPS Hospital management system has been conceived by a blend of seasoned professionals and rich and relevant experience in the healthcare industry. The system incorporates the best healthcare practices and is designed to deliver key tangible benefits various hospital and nursing homes. The system was designed and developed using general requirements combined with the requirements of B.P. Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital (BPKMCH). Developed in the D2K, Visual C#.Net, Visual Basic and Oracle 9i as the database. GAPS Power Foundation was used as the development methodology.
  6. System analysis and development of GAPS examiner, an application for conducting mass examination and keeping track of the results with score grading. This product was developed for generating School Leaving Certificate (SLC) send-up examination marksheet.
  7. Responsible for system design, implementation, software programming and training of various customized applications. Major application includes Event Management System which was developed for and studying the requirements of Orchid Hotel and XL sounds and lights. The major objective of Orchid Hotel through this application was to have an integrated system to manage production, track processing of pre/post production items, cost calculation and consumption estimation of produced items. The system fulfills these objectives as it is comprised of various modules to track and manage inflow of raw materials and semi-processed materials, production module to calculate produced items from the supplied raw materials or semi-processed materials, cost calculation module for calculating cost of various combination of items. Reservation module included in this system facilitates the user to reserve various combination of items on a particular day. Orchid hotel relies on this software for management of parties and events. This product was developed using Microsoft® Visual Basic and Microsoft® Access as the database.
  8. Responsible for the system study, design, development, testing and turnover of Integrated Production Management System. The system was developed for D.G. Poultry farm and the major objectives were to track and estimate production costs and quantity, track inventory, manage sales, manage wastage, and improve quality of service and workflow. Disease control, prevention, multi levels of production and waste management has been the system’s most powerful features. The application was developed using Microsoft® Visual Basic and Microsoft® Access as the database.
  9. Responsible for architectural design and development of comprehensive web based GAPS Business Solutions : Content Management System. The system was developed in MySQL and PHP.

Worked on various projects to various government and non-governmental organizations in the areas of insurance, finance and state administration. Major assignments include:

  1. Project Manager, Infocom Pvt. Ltd. Kathmandu Nepal (12/01/2001 – 09/30/2004). Responsible for the analysis, design and development of State Administration system for His Majesty’s the Government Department of Transportation Management. The system was developed as per the requirements of DOTM. DOTM’s objective through this system was to maintain a central repository of vehicle record information and related owner information. The system also tracks the transaction details of each vehicle. Also worked on adding features such as Owner transfer tracking, region transfer tracking and history maintenance of each vehicle (includes the state and condition of each vehicle). Key concern of DOTM was the tracking of tax clearance. This feature was also worked on and added to the system in which tax levied in the vehicle has to be paid each year. Route permit for vehicle is another extended feature that was developed. Pollution and environmental issues were addressed and worked on, hence further adding modules for pollution test and test record tracking of each vehicle and tracking of test due date. Fitness test results are also tracked by the system. This system also includes general accounting. The application was developed using Microsoft® Visual Basic, Crystal Reports, Microsoft® SQL and Microsoft® Excel as a reporting tool.

  3. System analysis, design and development of Strip Printing application, for tracking of the air craft arrivals and departures as per requirements by Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA). The system was developed using Microsoft® ASP.Net and Microsoft® SQL.
  4. Development of online trekking reservation web site for Gurung Travels and Tours. The scripting language used for this application is ASP 3.0 and Microsoft® Access as database.
