Staff Meetings Held
The BIC teaching staff met around the periphery
of the new academic session (2064/065) to discuss the progress made
by the students and the problems and shortcomings facing the college.
During the meetings, the teachers expressed their views over the
progress made by the students and asserted that the college has
much to do for the overall development of the academic activities.
During the meetings the college's principal Mr. Gopal Krishna Shrestha
said that he would heartily welcome the invaluable suggestions given
by the staff and that he would try to implement them as far as possible.
Welcome XI Graders
The welcome programme for grade XI is going to
be held by grade XII students on 12th Ashwin, 2064. The programme
will be very exciting due to various sorts of cultural and musical
programmes that are going to be performed by the students of grade
XII. This type of programme is held every year on BIC Day. At the
programme, the college as per its tradition will also honor its
best students, teachers and non-teaching staff. On completion of
the programme, all the students will attend at the lunch party.
Project Work Continues
To ensure the all-round development of the students,
the college is continuing the two-year project work that commenced
last year. The project work has a coverage of dignitaries in different
fields with the strong participation of the students. The project
work will get published in the form of a book like the previous
project work, by the students, which was later published in the
form of the book entitled ' Our Pioneers :Our Pride.' The project
work will include biographies of the dignitaries in various disciplines
focusing on different facets of their lives. The personalities selected
for this year include Prof. Dr. Abhi Subedi, Musician Ambar Gurung,
Social worker Mrs. Maiya Devi Shrestha and entrepreneur Mrs. Ambika
Shrestha. The selected personalities for the last year last included
Dr. Bhagawan Koirala (Director, Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre);
Senior Novelist Mr. Diamond Shamser; Prof. Dr. Shuresh Raj Sharma
(Educationist, and Vice-Chancellor- Kathmandu University)
Monthly Tests Conducted: Scholarships Awarded
Scholarships have been awarded to four students
of XII for their commendable performance in Monthly Tests of Shrawan
and Bhadra. As per the tradition of the college, the top scorers
in the 1st and 2nd monthly tests got the special scholarship that
includes 'one month's tuition fee free'. The students who got this
special scholarship include Suwas Thapa (management) and Ganesh
Bahadur Adhikari (Science) for 1st monthly test and, Suwas Thapa
(management) and Soning Lama (Science) for 2nd monthly tests.
Students' Council 2007/08
Students' Council for the year 2007/08 has been
formed on September 3, 2007 under the leadership of Master Buddhiman
Tamang, a meticulous student of XII (Management). The Students'
Council is the crucial body representing the students with the main
responsibility of inspecting the overall activities of the college
and reporting the necessary information to the College's Administration.
The formation of the Students' Council develops the sense of responsibility
among the students about maintaining the college atmosphere and
promotes their leadership and managerial skill. In fact, it is the
representative body of students that bridges the gap between students
and administration.

Afforestation Programme Photo
With a view to enhancing interaction with the
nature and natural lives among the students, the college organized
an afforestation programme at Nagarkot on 32nd of Shrawan, 2064.
The college's Principal started the programme among around seventy
students who participated in the programme and around 450 plants
were planted at the site.
Orientation for XI
The college has organized 'Orientation Program'
on 19th Shravan, 2064 for the new comers of Grade XI and their parents/guardians
in the college's seminar hall. The program was held to give the
necessary information about the college so that the students feel
ease for the effective adjustment with the college environment,
and also that the guardians will be well informed about the academic
and other activities of the college. Majority of parents/guardians
were present on the occasion. On the program, two veteran academicians
Prof. Dr. Tirth Raj Khaniya and Prof. Dr. Siddhibir Karmacharya
were present as the special guests. Speaking on the occasion, Keynote
speaker of the program, Dr. Khaniya said that the overall development
of the students is possible only if we involve the students in teaching
learning process. Another guest, Dr. Karmacharya praised the overall
academic environment of the college and advised the students to
be sincere in their academics. On the program, College's Principal
Mr. Gopal Krishna Shrestha reinstated the commitment of the college
to overall development of the students.
HSEB Board Results of XII
Recently, the results of XII (both Science
and Commerce) conducted by Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB)
in 2007 were published. The college has achieved grand achievements
in both the results. The success of Science Stream is more than
85% with majority of the students earning Distinction and First
Division. Similarly, the success of the Commerce Stream is around
80%, with majority of the students gaining First Division. The college
feels proud of these genius students and expresses congratulations
to all the students who, continuing the success rate of the previous
batches, achieved wonderful result in their academic career.
Mingma Gyaljen Sherpa Succeeded over Mt. Everest(19-May-2007)
One
of the meticulous Grade XI students of Brookfield College, Mr. Mingma
Gyalje Sherpa, with the college's flag, and as a member of the French
Moneco Everest
Expedition Team- 2007, succeeded over Mt. Everest (8848 m.), the
highest mountain of the world, on May 19, 2007 (11 a. m.). Besides
Mr. Sherpa, other six members of the Expedition Team led by Mr.
John Marc also climbed up the world's highest peak from Tibetan
side. On this wonderful triumph and adventurous effort, the entire
Brookfield family would like to extend congratulations to Mr. Sherpa
and other successful members of the team.
Excursion to Pokhara Photo (15-Feb-2007)
As per the college's tradition, all the Class
XI (both Science and Commerce Streams) students, with a view to
enhancing awareness towards national heritage and people's lives,
went for excursion to Pokhara and Souraha (Chitwan) for 4 nights
and 5 days from 3rd to 7th Falgun, 2063.The students enjoyed Sight
seeing, Elephant riding and various other recreational activities
during the trip. The excursion was under the direct supervision
of H.M. teacher, Mr. Vivek Verma.
Sports Week Celebrated Photo (31-Jan-2007)
This year Sports Week was celebrated with different
events from 17th to 20th of Magh, 2063. The activities were broadly
categorized into two groups: Sports Events and Talent Events. The
Sports Events included Basketball, Table Tennis, Badminton and Chess
and the Talent Events included Elocution Competition, Quiz Competition,
and Essay Writing Competition. On the final day, Mr. Narayan Koirala,
Joint Secretary- HSEB, along with the words of encouragement awarded
certificates and medals to the winners of these different events.

Students' Picnic Photo (22-Dec-2006)
With a view to fostering friendly and cordial
relation among the students and getting free from the busy schedule
of the study, the college, as suggested by the students' Council
and mentioned in the college's calendar, has organized a one-day
Picnic Program for the XI/ XII students at Matatirtha on 7th of
Poush, 2063. Majority of the students celebrated Picnic as a great
festival by indulging themselves in various funny activities such
as singing, dancing, playing cards, bingo, duets, among others.

Hotel Management Group in Nagarkot (1-Dec-2006)
The Hotel Management (HM) students at Grade XII
went to Naga rkot
for a two-day practical work in the subject under the direct supervision
of the HM Teacher, Mr. Vivek Verma on 15th of Mangsir, 2063. The
students observed various aspects of the Hotel Management of the
two renowned Hotels at site- Country Villa and Club Himalayan and
were also engaged in practical activities of HM. This type of visit
is a sort of activity that provides the students with a first-hand
experience in the concerned subject matter.

TT Students Visit Namobuddha Photo (24-Nov-2006)
All the Grade-XII Travel And Tourism students,
under the direct supervision of the Faculty, Mr. Ananda Ghimire,
visited Namobuddha, a beautiful rural site in Kathmandu, as their
practical work on 8th of Mangsir 2063. This type of work is often
tailored to the students with a view to enhancing awareness towards
national heritage and people's lives. Based on their first hand
experience via such visit, the students would prepare project report
focusing on geographical, cultural, economical and social dimensions,
among others, of the place in question.

Teachers' Picnic at Bajrabarahi (18-Nov-2006)
As a part of recreational activity, BIC Teachers
went to Godawari for Picnic on 2nd of Mangsir, 2063. Various entertaining
activities such as dancing, singing, and chitchat had made the picnic
really memorable. In fact, it is the tradition of this college to
organize a picnic and make relaxed gatherings among teachers.
Second Position NTB Project Competition (20-Sep-2006)
Brookfield Int'l College has secured the second
position in "Project Report Writing Competition" organized
by Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) on 4th of Ashwin, 2063. On the occasion,
BIC team presented a 40 paged project report on "Prospects
of Tourism: in Kirtipur and Chobar Area". The five members
of BIC included Kyaron Dhoju, Priya Rouniyar, Niru Lama, Norkey
Sherpa and Binnie Mukhia. They boosted the prize purse, which included
Rs.2000.00 as cash prize for each member, a trophy and the certificate
of appreciation. It is worth mentioning here that BIC team also
got the Second position in project competition organized by NTB
last year.

College's Principal Mr. Gopal Krisha Shrestha who also held the

should be maintained by focusing on academics. The programme was

The BIC teaching staff met on 3rd Bhadra
at Chovar Height around the periphery of the new academic session
(2063/064) to discuss the progress made by the students and the
problems and shortcomings facing the college. During the meetings,
the teachers expressed their views over the progress made by the
students and asserted that the college has much to do for the overall
development of the academic activities. They also discussed matters
regarding physical facilities provided to the teaching and non-teaching
staff at the college. During the meetings the college's principal
Mr. Gopal Krishna Shrestha said that he would heartily welcome the
invaluable suggestions given by the staff and that he would try
to implement them as far as possible. Similarly, the chief administrator
admitted that the college administration is ready to apply any measures
that are supportive for creating conducive environment in the college.
Success in XI Board Exam
The results of XI (both Science and Commerce)
conducted by Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) in 2006 were
published. The college has achieved grand achievements in both the
results. The success of Commerce and Science Streams is 84%, with
majority of the students earning Distinction and First Division.
The college feels proud of these genius students and expresses congratulations
to all the students who, continuing the success rate of the previous
batches, achieved wonderful result.
Talent Competition: Sports (22-jul-2006)
BIC has organized Inter-section Sports and Talent
Competition from 32nd Ashadh to 6th Shrawan, 2063 with a view to
unfolding creative potentiality of the students.
The program included Basketball and Table
Tennis. In the basketball competition, Commerce XII/A2, beating
all the groups, got the first position. In the TT section, Pratima
K.C. XII/A2, Sony Sherpa XII/A2, Kabita Chhetri XII/ A2 stood the
first, second and third positions respectively among the girls;
similarly, Binod Shrestha XII/B1, Keshav Giri XII/A2and Sameer Chalise
XII/B1 became the First, Second and Third respectively among the
boys. The winning teams and the individuals were awarded the medals
and the certificates by the college Founder Principal in a brief
closing ceremony.
